Environmental Atlas

EPA’s EnviroAtlas is a decision support tool that provides data and mapping to assist a wide range of audiences, including planners, educators, and researchers.

Data, which reflects many different mapped attributes or variables, are developed at two scales:

In the Interactive Map, data are organized under three tabs:

  • Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity
  • People and Built Spaces
  • Supplemental Maps

Each data layer has its own data fact sheet and metadata. This tool uses seven broad benefit categories to organize its information and data on ecosystem services:

  • Clean Air
  • Clean and Plentiful Water
  • Natural Hazard Mitigation
  • Climate Stabilization
  • Recreation, Culture and Aesthetics
  • Food, Fuel and Materials
  • Biodiversity Conservation
