Updates from Columbia Land Conservancy – Data Driven Conservation

The Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) conserves farmland, forests, wildlife habitat, and rural lands in Columbia County. Since its inception in 1986, CLC has permanently protected 29,500 acres of land and currently holds conservation easements on 22,900 acres. As part of CLC’s strategic plan for 2014, they are developing a new conservation plan and seek to incorporate resiliency science into this effort. This excerpt from their Fall 2016 Newsletter highlights how CLC is using data to update and refine conservation efforts in Columbia County.
